In order to test a circular business model, we have embedded two features into this T-Shirt that make it traceable - from seed to finished garment and beyond. By scanning the QR code or the NFC button on the T-Shirt, you are taken on a journey of its past and future. This T-Shirt is part of our take-back program. Find out more here!

Production

Our Circular Tees were produced by Utenos Trikotažas in Lithuania. Utenos Trikotažas is the largest and one of the most modern knitwear production companies in Central and Eastern Europe, in business since 1967. Thanks to the vertical integration, the full production cycle happens under one roof: From fabric production to garment assembly and packaging. Utenos Trikotažas is SA8000 certified.

Let it circulate! Does your Circular Tee no longer spark joy? Don't worry, we'll take it off your chest. Simply follow the steps below to help find a new home for your beloved T-Shirt. This is a pilot project in which we intend to test a circular business model. If at any point you have questions or feedback, please do not hesitate to contact us at support@theslowlabel.com

HOW DOES IT WORK?⁠
1. Please fill out our short questionnaire. Once we receive your response, we will send you an email with a free shipping label to the email address stated in the questionare. ⁠
2. Wash, fold and pack your T-Shirt neatly in a small package. Attach your shipping label on the outside of the package and drop it off at your nearest DHL location.
3. As soon as your package arrives at our sorting facility, the T-Shirt's quality is being inspected. You will receive a 5 Euro voucher sent to your email address if the Circular Tee qualifys for resell. If the quality is insufficient, we will send the T-Shirt to a textile recycler. Either way, you will be informed via email!

Circular Design Strategy

As a brand, we believe that we should be held accountable for the lifecycle of our garments. By designing for longevity and durability, circulating our garments in the loop for as long as possible, and making sure sorters and recyclers know how to dispose of them at the end of their lives. The latter is more difficult than it may seem. Fixing an inherently unsustainable business model and solving the textile waste problem is not easy - it takes a collective effort and shared knowledge. That's why we are excited to be part of the Closed Loop Pilot together with other trailblazers in the sustainable fashion industry.
